Trastevere

It is a charming neighborhood on the western bank of the Tiber, known for its medieval cobbled streets, climbing plants, typical trattorias, and lively nightlife.

A visit to the neighborhood's extraordinary art treasures is not to be missed. These include the 16th-century Palazzo Corsini, the Galleria Nazionale di Arte Antica, whose gardens include the Botanical Gardens; Villa Farnesina, with its marvelous frescoes by Raphael and his school; the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere; the Basilica of Santa Cecilia; the ancient Basilica of San Crisogono; San Francesco a Ripa Grande, with its beautiful statue of the Ecstasy of Blessed Ludovica Albertoni by Gian Lorenzo Bernini; and the Museum of Rome in Trastevere.

The district is also home to the famous Porta Portese flea market on Sunday mornings.

Janiculum

The Janiculum is a very pleasant area for a stroll, with its cheerful atmosphere, far from the chaos of the city.

The Janiculum Walk, which offers one of the most evocative views of Rome's historic center, consists of two large avenues lined with plane trees, running alongside Villa Aurelia, which meet in Piazzale Garibaldi.

They then continue along a single road that descends in hairpin bends towards the church of Sant'Onofrio, built to complete the Promenade in 1939.

Monteverde Vecchio

Monteverde Vecchio developed in the early decades of the twentieth century between the Janiculum and Trastevere, two of Rome's most recognizable areas, the former with its evocative views of the city, the latter with its historic streets, restaurants, and shops.

The neighborhood maintains an orderly layout of villas, gardens, and tree-lined streets that define a continuous residential fabric.

The widespread presence of greenery and the quality of the architecture make it one of the most sought-after areas of the city, where panorama and urban life coexist in perfect balance.
